A creative process built on
efficiency and authenticity.
Efficiency. There is a phrase often repeated in mountain safety: “go slow to go fast.” I believe this is also the most important principal to keep in mind when starting the post-production process. My years of experience in post-production have taught me that no matter how epic the plot, or how flashy the cuts - all hell will break loose if you don’t take care of the little things. I have developed systems that promote efficiency and eliminate backtracking, so that once the ball is rolling, we can focus on what matters most: the story.
Authenticity. Despite living in an age where fabricated content seems to garner so much attention, I believe that authenticity is an absolute must when striving to create content with a meaningful outcome. The story will always drive the edit - and staying true to that story will have the greatest impact on your audience. If you want to create an engaging piece of content that the viewer will remember, you need to evoke emotion. Together, the more soul we put into this project, the more that will be reflected in the finished product - whether it be a feature length doc or a 15 second sizzle.
About me. With over 5 years of experience in post-production, I have had the opportunity to wear a lot of hats. I have worked on features as part of a 5-person post team at one of the largest production companies in the outdoor industry, and I have worked as a one-man show out of my kitchen in Charleston, South Carolina. I’ve been able to work alongside some of the most renowned directors in the action sports industry, as well as some serious up and coming post-houses in the commercial space. Currently residing in San Diego, California, my focus is on helping my clients achieve their marketing goals through engaging digital content.
